Our New Facility  /  LHSC Clinic Closure

In July 2023, we moved to a new facility at 373 Commissioners Rd. W. with a state-of-the-art fertility lab to deliver full-service ART, IVF and genetics to southwestern Ontario, including continued care to our LGBTQ+ community. Our affiliation continues with Western University’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

With the closure of the LHSC fertility clinic, patients have many questions. Here are the most common:

I have had previous fertility treatments at LHSC and plan to arrange for more treatment in the future, will I keep the same provider?2023-03-31T15:31:17-04:00

Yes, the same physicians from LHSC will be offering a full range of fertility treatments at the new facility for OMEGA Fertility Center.

What happens to my care?2023-07-27T09:49:32-04:00

All fertility treatments and monitoring will be completed by the OMEGA Fertility Center at the new facility. Your care provider will not change.

What happens to my health record/file?2023-03-31T16:54:30-04:00

A copy of your fertility file will be included in the transfer of care to OMEGA Fertility Center to ensure continuity of care – there will be no cost to you. Any missing records can be requested from LHSC through the Release of Information Consent.

I was locked into ministry funded in the spring, what happens to my spot on the funded waitlist?2023-03-31T16:55:55-04:00

LHSC and OMEGA Fertility Center have worked collaboratively with the Ministry of Health to ensure a smooth transition of funded services, any patients with locked in funding at LHSC will have their funding automatically transferred to OMEGA Fertility Center.

Does OMEGA Fertility Center provide OHIP funded services?2023-03-31T16:56:54-04:00

OMEGA Fertility Center offers both OHIP funded and private pay services.

How will my embryos/eggs/sperm be transferred to OMEGA Fertility Center?2023-03-31T16:58:38-04:00

Embryo/eggs/sperm are transported around the globe on a daily basis – we will be using the services of a specialist transport provider at no added cost to the patients.

At OMEGA, you can feel confident and relaxed knowing that we are providing the most advanced fertility treatments available.
